I am a very experienced teacher, with an outstanding track record of excellent results with A-level Physics and GCSE Physics spanning 20+ years. I have qualified teacher status (QTS) in the UK and enhanced DBS certificate.

I can help you reach your goals
The starting point is always an assessment of where the student is currently at. I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation. Once I fully understand your needs, I can put a plan in place to help get you to where you need to be. The aim is for the student to reach their full potential through a combination of support and challenge. Quite often, students have a few problem areas. Having topics explained again clearly and simply can really help. I encourage students to ask questions as we go along. I give clear explanations to deepen understanding and ask questions to check understanding. I make use of exam questions to improve exam technique. A sequence of lessons will increase confidence, understanding and very often lead to a boost in grades.

I can help you improve your grades with a focus on improving exam question capability. I have vast experience with A level physics and in depth knowledge of the requirements of the A level physics exams. I also tutor IB Physics, GCSE Physics and IGCE Physics with successful outcomes. I have many years experience and a track record of excellent results at GCSE and A-level.

He had no spaces left for private tuition so we joined a group class. There were only four of them and my son found it incredibly helpful and clear. Tim is a fantastic tutor with a sharp eye on what the exams are looking for and a very clear and thorough teaching style. The groups ability was mixed (my son felt others were better informed) but that didn’t matter at all to my son and didn’t impede his learning. I am so glad we found Tim and would have loved to have engaged his services sooner.
How online tuition works
Lessons are online, since this allows me to work with you wherever you are based, and is more flexible and convenient for students. Lessons are fully interactive, stimulating and challenging. The interaction between tutor and student is very similar to a face-to-face session. All you need is a tablet or a laptop with an internet connection. We will use Zoom for the lessons, with interactivity through screen sharing and whiteboard.
My fees for tuition
My rates for online sessions are £95/hour, payable on the day of the lessons, apart from the first session which is a free 30 minute discussion about your needs and what I can offer, with no obligation. The aim is to reduce the risk considerably on your side and to make sure we are both happy to proceed with the lessons.
