My tuition services
I was one of the first private physics tutors in the UK to teach via the Internet, and helped pioneer the development and delivery of high quality physics tuition online. I found that I was able to deliver successful and interactive tuition to students living in London and elsewhere, using the internet, from my home in Sheffield. Tuition via Zoom is really very similar to face-to-face tuition – it is fully interactive and all that is needed is a broadband connection and a computer/tablet with a microphone/loudspeaker.
Today, I successfully teach both GCSE and A level Physics at my school in Sheffield. This keeps me up-to-date with curriculum changes and the latest technology used in teaching. I am also involved in the training of physics teachers in other schools, helping them to deliver high quality physics lessons with their students.
Qualifications
I have degrees and postgraduate qualifications in Physics and in Science Education, from the universities of York and Cambridge (Master of Education grade A from Cambridge). I am also a full Member of the Institute of Physics. I have a full and up-to-date DBS certificate and references, available on request.
I lived and worked in Cambridge for 21 years, until 2015, when I moved up to Sheffield with my family. We enjoy the diversity of Sheffield and the peaceful beauty of the nearby Peak District!
Rates
My rates are £60 per hour, with lessons usually taking place in the early evening or at weekends in the mornings. I can also offer webinar style group sessions @ £10/hour, which is a cheaper option.
